Chinese Jian Kiln Tea Bowl with Oilspot Glaze
Jianzhan is an old-school Chinese Tea Cup made with special clay from Shuiji Town. This clay is fired up at a whopping 1300 degrees with some ash and mineral glaze water, resulting in a super durable and safe cup. It's even survived through 5 different dynasties - Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing! Just imagine all the tea it's seen and how much it's changed.
Five cool-looking JIANZHAN cups, all with unique histories. As of May 23, 2011, the kiln building and firing technology was listed as part of the third group of international intangible cultural heritage. During the Sep.2017 BRICS Meeting, Jianzhan were gifted to the leaders of countries in attendance.
The Joys of Jianzhan
The special iron bands of Jianzhan possess subtle magnetic properties. It's common knowledge that magnetic fields are vital for living beings, just like sunshine and air pollution, and are a crucial ingredient in biology. Scientific studies have shown that magnetic fields offer numerous benefits to the human body, including:
- Boosting cell metabolism and balancing hormones.
- Strengthening the body's natural defences and fortifying the immune system.
- Combating excess free radicals in the body and slowing down the aging process.
